DAILY CHEWING STICK FOR MONDAY 20TH NOVEMBER 2017(1 Mac 1:10-15,41-43,54-57,62-64; Lk 18:35-43).
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God open our lips, and our tongue shall declare your praise.

If you are left with no choice than to pick to become one of the following, which will you go for and why? (a) TO BE BLIND (b)TO BE DEAF (c) TO BE DUMB. It is not our portion, amen!

There are different kinds of blindness namely; physical, spiritual, emotional, social, colour, financial, intellectual blindness, etc! One can be physically sighted but spiritually blind( many people in our world today fall into this group) and vice versa(our Gospel today). We have those who are colour blind and it prevents them from seeing some dark areas in their life. We have those like the alcoholic father who can not see the misery he is causing to his wife and children.

Brethren, the blind man of Jericho was a beggar by the roadside, who lived in a world of darkness sustained by alms that merciful passersby flung at him.  IT WAS A LIFE OF TOTAL DEPENDENCE HAUNTED BY UNCERTAINTY. He was never sure of his daily bread. BUT WHEN HE ENCOUNTERED JESUS, WHO WAS PASSING BY, HE SHOUTED WITH FAITH, JESUS,SON OF DAVID HAVE PITY ON ME! THE STORY OF HIS LIFE CHANGED, HE DID NOT ONLY REGAIN HIS SIGHT, BUT BECAME HIS FOLLOWER.
Brethren, remember that as Jesus walked through the way of the TEN LEPERS(Lk 17:11-19) their lives transformed. In the Gospel today, He walked through the way of the BLIND BEGGAR, his life never remained the same. AS WE BEGIN THIS NEW WEEK, JESUS WILL PASS YOUR WAY, YOU WILL ENCOUNTER HIM AND THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE SHALL CHANGE FOR THE BEST…AMENNNN!!!
SING WITH ME:

(1)Pass me not, O gentle Savior,Hear my humble cry; While on others Thou art calling,Do not pass me by.
Refrain

Savior, Savior,Hear my humble cry; While on others Thou art calling,Do not pass me by.
(2) Let me at Thy throne of mercyFind a sweet relief,Kneeling there in deep contrition;Help my unbelief.
(3)Trusting only in Thy merit,Would I seek Thy face;Heal my wounded, broken spirit,Save me by Thy grace.
(4)Thou the Spring of all my comfort,More than life to me,Whom have I on earth beside Thee Whom in Heav’n but thee.
Good Morning and May God bless our New Week. Amen.
