? DON’T BE AFRAID FOR GOD CARES SO MUCH ABOUT YOU.

There is a reality that every human being from time to time has to experience in life. Fear is something we all have to cope with. All those who have achieved success in different areas in life had at some point experienced and overcome fear before getting to the point they are.

Fear should not be seen as completely negative. Sometimes it has a protective function. It warns or prepares us for the coming danger ahead, in order for us to get prepared.

When Jesus commissioned his disciples to go into the world to preach the good news of salvation, he knew that they will face persecution that might lead to martyrdom, so he prepared their mind for the danger ahead and they were afraid, and Jesus in the Gospel reading today said to them three times, not to be afraid.

Jesus is telling us today not to be afraid especially this period when everything seems to be going wrong in our country. So many people are living in fear, particularly those living in the northern part of the country, the fear of boko harram, the fulani herdsmen and kidnappers. Jesus tells us today not to be afraid of those who can only kill the body but fear him who can destroy the soul and body in hell.

Beloved we should not be afraid, for fear can prevent us from actualizing our dreams and aspirations in life. Don’t be afraid to take reasonable risk and then put your trust in God, who cares so much about you. He will take care of you and no matter what the situation might be, he will provide and protect you from the hands of those who hate you as he did in the life of Jeremiah in the first reading. There were threats to Jeremiah’s life, his people were out to destroy him and see his downfall simply because he was against their evil deeds. But Jeremiah was not afraid of them, he committed his cause to the Lord and was convinced of his mission that he was not alone.

Beloved don’t be afraid, be convinced that you are not alone, God is with you to protect you and your household. Fear is just false reality appearing real. Each day God keeps telling us not to be afraid. Little wonder that the phrase ” Do not be afraid” appeared 366 times in the bible.

Finally, we pray for the courage to overcome every form of fear in our lives. ??.
DO HAVE A LOVELY WEEK AHEAD.
